Beyond Borders would like to introduce Elizabeth Harris.

Beyond Borders would like to introduce our newest guest blogger, Elizabeth Harris. Elizabeth received her MA in Museum Studies from New York University and is pursuing her MA in the History of Islamic Art and Architecture at the School of Oriental and African Studies, London.

Her research interests include luxury ceramics, Mediterranean trade networks, and exhibition methodologies for Islamic art. She works at the Victoria and Albert Museum and is currently researching 18th century Ottoman coffee vessels produced in K├╝tahya for her MA thesis. On 17 June, Elizabeth will contribute a paper on the diverse Mediterranean architectural elements incorporated in the Funerary Complex of the Mamluk Sultan Qalawun in Cairo, built 1284-1285.
